BOEKENHOUTSKLOOF – OUR GREAT BUSINESS
Our
WINES
Nestled in the southernmost corner of the scenic Franschhoek Valley, Boekenhoutskloof was officially established in 1776, making it one of the region’s oldest farms. A grouping of friends purchased the property in 1996, and under the guidance of Managing Partner and Technical Director Marc Kent, the winery is renowned as one of South Africa’s top producers of fine wine. Brands such as The Chocolate Block, Porcupine Ridge and The Wolftrap are arguably some of the most successful and celebrated wines of the modern wine era in South Africa.
In 2009, Boekenhoutskloof expanded by acquiring the historic Helderberg Winery on Winery Road, Stellenbosch. This facility houses The Chocolate Block barrel maturation cellar, which has been modernised through the installation of what is currently the world’s largest OXOline wine barrel stacking system
Further bolstering its portfolio, Boekenhoutskloof has acquired key properties in the Swartland, such the Goldmine farm, The Partnership Vineyard, as well as Porseleinberg, which in its own right has gained world-wide acclaim. Further investments in the Hemel & Aarde Valley have given rise to the Cap Maritime brand. These properties not only contribute unique wines of their own but also serve as vital sources of grapes for the broader Boekenhoutskloof brand portfolio.
